During our annual Genetics Recruitment Symposium, three outstanding graduate students were given the opportunity to do an oral presentation. It was a great opportunity for current and prospective genetics students to get a glimpse into the wide variety of research going on in our program.
Reed Stubbendieck (Dr. Paul Straight’s Lab) won first place for his talk on bacterial competition.
Ashley Mattison (Dr. John Mullet’s Lab) tied for second place for her talk on the analysis of QTL traits in sorghum.
Hilary Scott (Dr. Vlad Panin’s Lab) tied for second place for her talk on the neural pathways in Drosophila.
New website for Genetics Graduate Student Association is now live. We would like to thank Texas A&M Institute for Genome Sciences and Society for hosting our website.
