See the announcement below:

On behalf of the TGS organizing committee, I cordially invite you to the 2018 annual meeting of the Texas Genetics Society.  This year’s meeting will be held at Texas A&M University in College Station, March 22-24, 2018. Please plan to join us and register at The 2018 TGS meeting flyer is attached- please disseminate it widely!

The Texas Genetics Society has met annually since 1974 to celebrate the successes of genetics researchers in Texas and to provide a forum for discussion of new techniques and advances in the field of genetics.  Additionally, we focus on developing the next generation of genetics researchers by providing a safe environment in which to present their work and develop a professional network.

In addition to our keynote speaker and awardee, we have invited high profile speakers for each session.  The schedule of speakers will be accessible online shortly. Additionally, we encourage your students, laboratory technicians, or postdoctoral fellows to offer platform or poster presentations.  One of the highest missions of the Society is to encourage younger Texas geneticists in their career development.  We will provide speaker and poster feedback to make this aspect more informative to the presenter.  Our goal is to provide a friendly atmosphere for undergraduates and staff to give their first talks or for graduate students and post-docs to present data or novel hypotheses for the first time.  Undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral scientists and technicians are all eligible to be considered for recognition of the best presentation in their respective level and category.

Exhibitors will also be on hand to showcase the latest in biotech product development and services.  These exhibitors offset meeting costs to make the current registration fees feasible.  We highly encourage established members and student members to spend time with them to make their efforts worthwhile.

In sum, we’re planning a great meeting. It is an exciting time to a geneticist in Texas and an exciting time for our society to gather.  All information regarding abstract and registration deadlines, hotel information, and meeting venues can be found online  Additionally, you may pay your registration or annual dues there.
